Peter Stabins - President

Peter is the president of DYDEX and an energy lawyer at Stabins Energy Law. His broad background touches many fields, including science, engineering, business, finance and law. More specifically, he has been in financial research since 1995 and electricity / energy research since 1998. He is also author of the book 'Ontario Electricity Trading: Regulation and Economics' and possesses engineering (Engineering Science - University of Toronto), M.B.A. (York University) and law (University of Western Ontario) degrees. Peter's professional designations include being Called to the Bar of the Law Society of Upper Canada and several financial and derivatives designations issued by the Canadian Securities Institute. Outside of DYDEX, Peter is very active in sports (hockey and tennis, in particular), outdoor activities and the arts.

Dr. Matt Davison - Director

Matt is a Director and Senior Consultant on finance and energy at DYDEX. He is also a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Western Ontario and holds the Canada Research Chair in Quantitative Finance. Besides a history in financial derivatives and modelling at Deutsche Bank, his strong academic credentials include engineering (Engineering Science - University of Toronto) and graduate (M.Sc. and Ph.D. - Applied Mathematics - University of Western Ontario) degrees. His principal research interest is electricity and energy finance, with a focus on the creation of pricing models for deregulated markets and the economic optimization of generating assets. Matt is the author or co-author of over 20 academic papers, including "Real Options Valuation and Optimal Control of Electrical Power Plants in Deregulated Markets" and "Development of a Hybrid Model for Electrical Power Spot Prices".
