DYDEX RESEARCH AND CAPITAL LTD. ("DYDEX") is a private company based in Toronto, Canada, specializing in research and business development in the energy sector. Our focus is on new and innovative power generation technologies and energy derivatives. While the bulk of our efforts is on project development, we also provide energy trading and risk management services.

The foundation of our business is our research program. It is driven by the belief that problems and issues in the complex and ever-changing energy sector can only be addressed using an extensive information base. We therefore continually update and expand our organizational knowledge via fundamental and specific research in energy regulation, economics and technology. Our work has manifested itself in the development of new methods of green power generation, advanced tools for economic optimization of power generating assets, advanced valuation methods and strategies for energy derivatives, and several energy books and papers, among many other projects.

Our ‘capital’ activities deal with developing new and advanced power generation projects and the utilization of energy derivatives for trading and risk management purposes. This ranges from securing financing for research to arranging funding for new hydroelectric facilities to solving advanced trading problems. In support of these activities we also provide management for power generation projects and businesses.
